FAQ
A Creation Fee of $175, which covers the time and process of capturing your images during the shoot, is due at the pre-shoot consultation.
Step 1: The Pre-Shoot Consultation. This is a 20- to 30-minute meeting in which I’ll gather information about your family – their personalities, interests, and so on – that will help me formulate a plan for how best to photograph them at the shoot. I’ll also show you some product samples, such as canvases, frames, and albums, and we’ll discuss details such as clothing choices and shoot location.
Step 2: The Shoot. We’ll meet at my studio or at a scenic location of your choice – and I am certainly happy to recommend photogenic spots – and have a fun and relaxed time while the shutter clicks away.
Step 3: The Ordering Session. After your shoot, I’ll go through the images and carefully narrow them down to the very best ones, do some basic edits, and create a presentation on my studio computer. We’ll then meet again – typically one to two weeks after the shoot – to look at the images together, and I’ll help you choose what products will look great for display in your home. I’ll then spend a few days doing a more thorough edit on the images you choose, preparing them for printing, and placing the order with a professional lab.
Step 4: The Delivery. When your artwork arrives, I’ll invite you back to my studio to pick it up, or I’m happy to deliver it to your home. You’ll also receive a digital file of any image that goes in a product your purchase.

Indeed they do, but so much more goes into a professional-quality image – composition, lighting and post-production editing, to name a few considerations – than simply the technology that captures it. And a high-end digital camera still trumps a smart phone every time.
As for the actual cost, think about it this way: We spend hundreds of dollars on meals and entertainment, yet photographs are far more lasting than these fleeting experiences. Even expensive furniture you purchase for your home eventually has to be replaced. But custom artwork in the home endures –not only do you get to enjoy it every day, it has the capacity to be passed down through generations for continued display and enjoyment.
